EndNote 21: Desktop: Citing and Writing

This video helps you learn how to add citations with some excellent commentary about problems and issues you might encounter with author names. The instructor shows the APA style, but the same principles apply across styles.

• Using categories and subheadings in your bibliographies.
• Submitting a paper for publication? Your journal may want you to removing field codes first. 
• Exporting citations in your Word document to move to a different library.

EndNote Desktop is not compatible with Google Docs  - at least in terms of the Cite While You Write plug-in.  You can, however, generate a final works cited list in EndNote and the copy/paste this list into your Google document.

EndNote can format your references to any style you need. Most styles are included, such as APA, AMA (JAMA), Vancouver etc.

When working in Microsoft Word, the name of this feature is a plugin for Word called Cite While You Write (CWYW).  If you have already downloaded CWYW, then watch these videos to learn more about how to create in-text citations and works cited lists.
