Linking Guidelines for D2L

How to Create a Persistent Link with DMU Discovery

You can create persistent links to either searches or individual items in DMU Discovery by following a few easy steps.

Creating persistent links to searches:

Step 1: Once you have completed a search, click the "Share" drop-down menu above the list of search results you'd like to create a persistent link to.

Step 2: Copy the link under "Use Permalink."

Step 3: You can now save the persistent link or share via email.

Creating persistent links to individual items:

Step 1: When you find an item you would like to save as a persistent link, rather than clicking on the PDF icon, click the title of the item in your search results to view the abstract page.

Step 2: Click the Permalink icon to the right-hand side of the item's publication information/abstract.

Step 3: Copy the persistent link to save or share. This URL should have dmu.idm.oclc.orgembedded within the URL string. This URL will work from both on and off campus and should take users back to the record within Ebsco where the pdf of the article can be downloaded.
