CDC: Immigrant and Refugee Health As a world leader in health promotion and disease prevention, CDC works with immigrant, refugee, and migrant groups to improve their health by: providing guidelines for disease screening and treatment in the United States and overseas; tracking and reporting disease in these populations; responding to disease outbreaks in the United States and overseas; advising U.S. partners on health care for refugee groups; educating and communicating with immigrant and refugee groups and partners.
The Cultural Orientation Resource Center The Cultural Orientation Resource (COR) Center, housed at CAL from 2000 to 2015, provided technical assistance regarding the cultural and community orientation refugees receive, either before their resettlement in the United States or after their arrival, as well as about their likely resettlement needs.
EthnoMED
EthnoMed is a free resource that contains information about cultural beliefs, medical issues and related topics pertinent to the health care of immigrants to Seattle or the US, many of whom are refugees fleeing war-torn parts of the world.
The Refugee Health Technical Assistance Center (RHTAC) The RHTAC is dedicated to improving the well-being of refugees by providing tools, resources, and support for health and mental health providers in order to better meet the needs of refugees in resettlement. RHTAC is funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The Refugee and Immigrant Health Program, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, is the lead agency. The RHTAC leadership team consists of nationally-recognized organizations with extensive experience in the field of refugee health and in improving the quality of services to refugees.
Children of Immigrants Data Tool
The Urban Institute Children of Immigrants Data Tool is an interactive tool designed to generate tables with indicators on children, age 0 to 17, for the United States, the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the top 100 metro areas using data from the American Community Survey. The Children of Immigrants Data Tool presents data on a number of population groups of children defined by the children nativity and citizenship and the nativity, citizenship, and origin of their parents, such as children with immigrant parents, children with noncitizen parents, and children with Mexican parents.
