How to successfully download the eBook Reader and eBook

AHA Ebook Reader

Please Read:

The AHA ebook Reader is finicky- there are common troubleshooting issues listed on the Troubleshooting Step-by-Step tab of this guide.

Here are some tips for success:

  1. Be sure to open the ebook and test it several days before your testing day.
  2. Backup your notes to an easily accessible place other than the Reader app.
  3. There are no user limits on reading the book in the web browser, however the server can be overloaded when many users are opening the book at the same time. Be smart- have a backup.
  4. Physical copies of the book checkout for three days from the Library Collections room.
  5. The ebook will automatically return on the due date.

Important

Logging into the AHA ebook Reader

  • You do NOT need a personal AHA account to access the ebook.
  • If you see the "Welcome Des Moines University" message, you will have access to the AHA eBooks.
  • If you want to save your bookmarks, highlights and notes, you will need to register for a personal account on the AHA site and login to see your saved items.
    • You can login with your Microsoft SSO credentials.

It is strongly recommended that you backup your notes in an easily accessible place and that you login to view your downloaded book several days BEFORE your test to make sure that it works smoothly.

IMPORTANT!

MAC USERS: Please download your eBooks to the eReader app BEFORE you sign into your AHA account. If you are signed in first, this could cause issues with the eBook not opening in the app. If you are experiencing issues, please look at the troubleshooting document and/or contact the library.
