Information Literacy Program

DMU Library’s information literacy program supports all academic programs through direct student and faculty contact in the curriculum and through co-curricular programming and resources. The DMU Library’s approach is in service of evidence-based practice and is informed by the Association of College & Research Libraries’ Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, which states:

Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning. -ACRL Framework

The DMU Library information literacy program strives to ensure students understand the scholarly communications ecosystem so that they can responsibly and successfully engage in it both as consumers and researchers.
