Archives and Special Collections: University Archives

A quick guide to understanding and using DMU's archives and special collections.

University Archives

Searching Our Collections

We are currently working on making our collections searchable and discoverable online, however, we have not completed it yet! If you would like to learn more about what historical University materials we have available for research, please make an appointment with our archivist to take a look at our finding aids!

Our rare books and archival materials do not circulate, nor are they available through interlibrary loan. Materials in our collections may only be viewed in the Rare Book Room.

Yearbooks

A row of DMU yearbooks dating from the 1930's to the 1960's.

Most of our yearbooks have been digitized and are available by clicking the link below.

The yearbook has gone through a few name changes which included Nucleolus, Cardiograph, The Stillonian, and, finally, Pacemaker. It is important to note that there have been a few stretches in which the university did not publish a yearbook due to times of economic and social hardship.

If you would like to see what physical yearbooks we have, you can browse our physical holdings using the link below.

Log Book

The Log Book, which acted as the university newspaper and magazine for fifty years has been digitized and is available at the link below.

The Drake University Digital Collections have been good enough to place some of our digitized photographs online for public searching. You can view the DMU related photographs at the link below.
