Library Updates: Home

What's new? What's Different?

Library Changes Due to COVID ( effective 6/8/2020)

Library Hours

The library will be open via badge access during the library’s regularly scheduled hours.

The library will be open normal hours via badge access during the University Spring break.  We are closed for the University holidays December 24th-25th, and 31st as well as January 1st.

Research Assistance

Librarians are available for remote research assistance. Assistance will be available M-F 8:00 am-4:30 pm. Assitance outside of business hours is available by appointment.

Placing Holds on Materials

Non-reserve items may be requested via placing a hold in the library’s online catalog.  All holds will be pulled and checked out to the requestor. These items will be placed on the circulation desk for pickup at the requestor’s convenience. Returned items may be placed in the book drop.

The library reserves the right to recall items if they are needed by other users.

Checkout Dates and Fines

Students are not assessed fines for late materials, but repeated overdue notices will be sent to remind students to return materials within loan limits. If the material is not returned within a reasonable time past its due date, students will be charged the replacement charge plus a $20 billing fee.

University Archives and Special Collections Access

Archives and Special Collections will be unavailable for in-person research visits until further notice.   Please see our Archives and Special Collections page for more information.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan services will continue as normal until further notice, though lending and borrowing of print ILL materials may become more limited depending on whether other medical libraries continue to make their print collections available.

Using the Library Space

The library is a public University space. We very strongly encourage appropriate physical distancing practices when in the library space.  We ask that all users please spread out in the library and be mindful of University and CDC guidelines and policies regarding coming onto campus when ill, practicing good hand hygiene, etc. Library users are welcome to use the hand sanitizer/wipes stations in the library—please see signage at the circulation desk for location information.
