Access to Library Resources & Other Technical Issues: Registering for Personal Accounts

The guide covers key information on how to access Library information resources on and off campus

Generally, you do not need to create a personal account with a publisher/vendor in order to access library resources either on or off campus.  If you are asked for a log on to use a resource, please contact the library. The only exceptions are EndNote, ExamMaster, and Board Vitals. In the case of these three resources, the product is intended for a customized experience and a personal account is necessary to set up your requirements.

However, publishers will often ask you to register for an account in order to access certain features, like mobile apps or downloading pdf content. Examples include Uptodate (mobile app) and ClinicalKey (download ebook pdfs) But as a general rule, all resources are accessible on and off campus from a web browser - no sign up required.

These personal accounts are not connected to your DMU credentials. You can choose any username/password that you wish. You may use your DMU email when registering for an account, but please do not use your DMU password.
